The green cat
is located in the Historical District of downtown Salida, 124 G.
Street. The building serves as a gallery and Steph's studio. The
artists are Steph Brady and Joe Brady. Steph
does all the hot, fired,
sandcarved, painted, and manipulated glass. She likes to take the glass
and place it in antique artifacts gathered from all over the world as
well as placing it in new assemblages . She also does the pastels,
watercolor, acrylic, and oil. Her work ranges from abstract to
realistic surreal. Joe Brady does the stone sculptures and all the wood
furniture. He likes to use western and Eastern Kansas limestone,
Colorado marble, Italian marble, Indiana limestone, African blackstone
as well as many others. His stones are made to caress and feel since he
takes 8 grades of diamond sandpaper and smoothed by hand. The stones
range in size from 30 pounds to 200 pounds and up. His wood work is
made sturdy and smooth. 719-530-0466 www.greencatstephbrady.com

for a visit to Salida and visit The Brodeur Studio/Gallery. Here you will find
the uniq ue
art of Brodeur. Her
eclectic style of painting will enable you to find her on any given day
painting an unusual abstract, a moody impressionistic painting, a funny
animal or maybe an emotional spiritual painting. For Brodeur it
is all about color, emotion and style. Her European
upbringing is embedded in her work. Painting in different mediums gives
her work depth and dimension.
Customers enjoy the old leather chairs and the laid back ambience of
the gallery, Music of Stan Getz, Paolo Conte or Three Stooges might be
playing. You might be so unfortunate as to hear her practice her
saxophone.

Gallery
150 was opened by
Goldsmiths Jerry Scavezze and Susan Bethany in 1998. In addition to
selling their own handmade jewelry work, they also carry work by both
local and nationally known jew elers
They also feature blown glass, ceramics, wood, blacksmithing and fiber
arts. Painters represented include Charles Frizzell and Walker Moore.
Artists are found through the American Craft Council show in Baltimore, and the Buyers Market of
American Crafts in Philadelphia. We enjoy the endless variety of crafts
we see at the shows and wanted to share those things with our
customers. We try to represent artists that are not available elsewhere
regionally. The gallery was born out of our love for beautiful, well
made contemporary craft items. The work in the gallery is as varied as
the Salida, Colorado mountain community, where it thrives. • 115 N G
